Heliconias, 2003

Color Series

Conscious of the massive deforestation occurring in Puerto Rico and the lack of ecological laws that protect the environment, H. Méndez Caratini has for the past five years undertaken the task of establishing his own private conservation center of endangered tropical species in his country house. The exotic flora in this portfolio are the fruit of his photographic studies in his botanical garden located in the mountains of Pulguillas.
