Kali, Martinique, 1993-1996

In 1996 I returned to the French island of Martinique to continue documenting some little known Hindu rituals. This time I decided to visit the northern side of the island, the Macouba region, where I was told that the goddess Kali solicited violent bloody sacrifices, involving the decapitation of live animals. The photographs and video of Hindu religions in the Caribbean is an unedited body of work, which I had never published before, until today.
